Thumb Butte Mountain

A landmark in "Preskitt" since 1863. Prescott was the favorite home of Virgil Earp, who became an Old West legend alongside his brothers at the shootout near the OK Corral. "It's the only place that seems like home," Earp wrote about Prescott to his friend and Prescott Constable James Dodson in 1882.

Historic Courthouse

 The Historic Prescott Courthouse sits in the Downtown Plaza. The courthouse itself has been built, relocated and rebuilt, and built again, most recently in 1916. On July 14th 1900 most of downtown was destroyed by a fire. By 1905, many of the buildings were rebuilt and remain here today. The Palace Saloon and the Hotel St. Michael stand as a reminder of our historic past. Photo by Theresa Rose Ditson.......

The Palace Saloon in the 1800's

Another landmark in "Preskitt" since 1877. The Palace Saloon remains one of our most visited spots on Whiskey Row. It's said that Wyatt Earp, Virgil Earp and Doc Holliday were patrons of the Palace. The place burned down in the great fire of July 1, 1900. After it was rebuilt by. The Palace Hotel and Bar, was complete with Chinese restaurant and barber shop after it was rebuilt in.  

The Prescott National Forest

Comprised of about 1.25 million acres, the Prescott National Forest is one of the most alluring attractions we have! Portions of the Prescott National Forest today are much the same as they were when Sam Miller panned for gold in Lynx Creek and was wounded by a cougar, or when General Crook's flag fluttered over Palace Station 

Goldwater Lake

Goldwater Lake at Goldwater Park is located just a four miles from downtown Prescott. It is a small lake with 15 acres of water surface, but features tons of family fun with park recreation and picnic facilities. The lake is small but has great views and perfect waters for canoeing and kayaking and also features a great hiking trail. It is open all year 

A Snowy Day At The Lake

One of the great things about "Preskitt" are our four mild seasons. Does it snow? You bet, but most times is just a few inches. Enough to turn us into a Winter Wonder Land. Then, it melts away.

Yavapai Regional Medical Center is a locally owned, locally operated, not-for-profit hospital system that encompasses two campuses – YRMC West in Prescott and YRMC East in Prescott Valley – plus the YRMC Del E. Webb Outpatient Center, also in Prescott Valley. YRMC relies on patient revenues and outstanding community support for its funding. No property taxes have ever been levied to pay for programs, capital improvements or expansion projects. If there is revenue left over after the hospital’s expenses are paid, this money is reinvested in YRMC to improve patient care, to reduce debt and to fund future needs.

VA Health CareThe Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS) includes the main medical facility, the Bob Stump VA Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona and five Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Anthem, Kingman, Lake Havasu City, Bellemont and Cottonwood, Arizona. The Bob Stump VA Medical Center is the largest veteran health care facility within a 60,000 square mile area and is the fourth largest employer in the area. This facility is located in the mountains of north central Arizona, 96 miles northwest of Phoenix, in a tri-city community of approximately 100,000 people. The area is not highly industrialized and is noted for clean air, sunshine and relatively mild climate. As part of the Sunbelt, it is an area of rapid population growth, particularly for retired people and families raising young children.
